Much has changed and yet much has stayed the same in that time. The football team did in fact go on to the state finals and won an overwhelming victory, due in no small part to the shift scheme Coach Brad worked up with Tom and Bull. Ronnie, Brad and Allen stayed on as coaches for another five years, consistently winning games and having ankara escort fun. They groomed their replacements so the tradition could carry on. Toby was a fast learner and knew the ins and outs of building just about anything. After five years of working for the contractor, Toby decided to go into business for himself. He sold the house his father had left for him and used the proceeds as start up money for his business. Ronnie offered to finance his venture, but Toby insisted on going it on his own. Due to Tom's smart management, the business was profitable in the second year. Yes, Tom was in the business with Toby. They did everything together. Tom had gone to college after high school and majored in business administration. He graduated with honors and joined Toby, working side by side with him. And loving side by side with Toby and Ronnie. The three of them still lived together and loved together. That is until Tom met someone new in his life. Ronnie knew the day would come when the boys would venture out on their own, not looking forward to that day at all. It was a relationship that grew slowly but stronger each day. Tom and his new love had been dating for a little over two years when he and Vince announced they were going to be married. Ronnie was so happy for Tom. He liked Vince and was glad to welcome him into the family. Vince was an only child whose parents lived on the West Coast. People leaving the bar found him and called the police. He lived but he had severe brain damage and ended up being placed in a home, never to fully recover enough to regain his memory. He would sit naked in his room all day, jerking off so often that the staff had to keep him in limited restraints most of the time. Ronnie and the boys visited him a few times but stopped once they realized Phil was never going recover or know who they were. Tom and Vince had a spectacular wedding. It was small by most wedding standards and low key, but very elaborate. Toby picked it up and had the officer repeat the news. He simply hung up and hugged Ronnie as they cried for hours, consoling each other. Tom's mother had died and his father had moved several times and there was no way to contact him. Ronnie managed to get a hold of Vince's parents but they told him they weren't well enough to travel. They would come out in the spring and visit his grave. They never did. Ronnie and Toby decided on a private double funeral, just the two of them in attendance. They had been through a lot as a family and they wanted this to be just family as well. As their limo pulled out of the funeral home parking lot to go to the cemetery, a line of cars stretched for several blocks, all with their headlights on, following in behind the limo. A police escort was leading the hearse, each side street they passed blocked off by the police. When the hearse and the limo pulled into the cemetery, the cars slowly passed by, showing their respect for Tom and Vince but not wanting to intrude on Ronnie and Toby's wishes for a private ceremony. The house Tom and Vince bought was left to Toby. He kept it and made it a shelter for homeless teenagers, a safe place like the one he and Tom found at Ronnie's house. It was simply named "Tom and Vince's House". In the years to come it sheltered many young people and helped them get their lives back on track. Ronnie and Toby moved on with their lives. Ronnie kept his promise to Toby that he would always have a place in his house and in his heart. Toby took him up on that promise.
